It’s been a while since I’ve written a post like this. “7” is a random number and I’m going to see if I can come up with 7 things that I’ve learned from consulting projects. The truth is that I’ve changed my mindset a bit in this regard. Consulting compared to my own projects will always have to settle for second place but I’ve realized that it’s not what I liked to think. The truth is that client projects inspire me to take my own business to the next level.
Implementing a PIM
I already had it but it will end up being in 2025. The good thing is that I just signed the contract today. It will be an investment of 20,000 euros in the plenty tool but I have a good feeling that it will be money well spent.
It’s a system that I discovered in a client project at the beginning of this year after having seen Tradebyte (a competitor of plenty) in my project with the football club in 2020. One of the tasks was to improve the processes related to plenty.
Apart from automating many processes, we will be able qatar whatsapp number data to expand our business more easily to new marketplaces beyond Ebay. Even on Ebay we are only touching the tip of the iceberg. It will be fun to see a significant turnover outside of Amazon. Starting in February or March, the first results should be seen.
Use of Confluence and Jira
And with these tools, work in sprints following the posting user-generated content helps Scrum methodology. Let’s see. We don’t follow it to the letter but it is true that for more than a year we have continued with the routine of meeting every week at the end of each sprint to review what we have achieved.
Right now we are in a phase of resuming work with Jira and Confluence again more seriously. We have never abandoned it but there are always ups and downs in terms of discipline. The “everything is documented in Confluence” and “all tasks in Jira” thing is not always done 100% as I would like. The benefit obtained from the time invested is already noticeable. At first it is just a matter of putting in time. It is like a piggy bank that is hard to fill. In our case, we are already at a critical point where we will never take a step back. The benefit obtained is too high.
Meetings are not a waste of time
Okay, some of them probably are. For us, they line data are not. They help us solve our problems and move forward with tasks. You may find it curious that we have only been using shared calendars in the company for a short time. It is thanks to this functionality that we can easily schedule meetings for everything. My favorite phrase has become “set a meeting for that.” If we do not plan to talk about an issue in a dedicated manner, it takes a long time to be resolved or it may even be completely forgotten. Without a meeting, there is no solution.
